Pleiades took its name after the daughters of Atlas and Pleioni which were born at the beautiful mountain of Ziria.

According to the myth, Orion felt madly in love with them and wanted to keep both for himself.

The seven sisters asked for Zeus help and in order to save them he made them into stars. Orion haunted them through the sky ever since but they are always ahead of him and every night the fall in the sea so they can escape.
